I’m waking up for the second time today…
I’m groping around for my phone, and I still seem to have a slight headache.
My social media presence for the past week to two weeks has been like nil to 10 per cent.
I still want to sleep…
Why am I sharing this?
Many of us want the spotlight but not the grind that comes with it. We want the “numerous likes and comments”, the love and praises people shower when you share your thoughts, the prayers that come from the impact you’ve made with your posts or otherwise, and just the love people seem to have for you.
BUT…
We seem to forget…
We seem to forget the sacrifices that you have to make occasionally along the way – the sleepless nights, the broke months from investing in yourself, your personal development and business, the drought months where you seem not to be making any sales, and the growth period where it seems like people don’t see all you do, but we keep on doing anyways.
The behind the scenes is always gruelling, tedious and demanding, but we do it anyway.
It’s rare for most people to share this, but we break down. We fall sick sometimes from the stress and need to recuperate before getting back in the grind.
While being active is all good, know that to be the best version of yourself, you’ll need plenty of rest along the way. You’ll need to take a step back, allow yourself to heal, re-strategize, and get back on track.
Know that these and more will happen, and when they do, take all the break and rest you need without feeling guilty.
Nothing you do will come easy on a platter of gold, success is not served on a platter of gold. Everything you desire has some form of “pain” attached to it.
So, as you make those goals and admire those personalities, are you preparing yourself for the work, sacrifice, and grind that’s involved?
